About seven years ago we rented a house on a lake in Michigan with three other families.  Each family had a child under 1 year-  our days revolved around nap schedules, baby feedings and diaper changes.  We were all in the same boat and a week at a lake house was just what we needed. I love the colors of all the fresh vegetables and flowers at the farmers market.    Purple and red radishes, orange carrots, bright tomatoes, green lettuces, cherries and berries.  It's  a beautiful sight.   It's almost as colorful as hiking through the wildflowers in Crested Butte.     I have really grown to love radishes over the last couple years.  They are a bit spicy and pungent with a nice crunch.  And they are so good for you.   Full of vitamins and minerals, they help detox the liver and aid in digestion.  And they are naturally cooling, which we all need this time of year.   Paired with mint, sweet peas and goat cheese, this salad is refreshing on a hot day. My kids and their friends were outside last week on a hot day kicking the soccer ball, jumping on the trampoline and playing zombie tag.  And they were hot.  And bordering cranky.  They needed something to cool them off and quick  but when I checked the freezer I was all out of popsicles. No big deal, I thought.  I got this. A bag of frozen strawberries, ice and some lemonade.  Viola!  A strawberry slushie was hitting their lips in 5 minutes flat.
